New Delhi: The final year exams have been a topic of concern now as the Supreme Court dismissed the plea to not conduct final year exams and has decided to follow the guidelines laid out by the University Grants Commission. However, it did provide universities and colleges with the provision of taking the exams a little later and not necessarily by September 2020.

And now, the latest update comes from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in Delhi as they have decided to conduct the final year exams in the last week of September. These exams will be conducted in the offline mode and the schedule will be released on September 11, 2020. Though the government had announced that the exams be canceled due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the SC’s decision lead to everyone chalking out various schedules for the exams.

None the less, the offline exams are an issue for many students given that it will make them prone to the novel coronavirus after all. As has been told by one of the students from the university, there has been a spike in cases and the decision to hold exams in such a situation is inhumane.

While the date sheet Is yet to be out, the pen and paper exams will take place across all the affiliate centres as well as colleges in the capital. While announcing the date, the university has directed the students to get ready for the exams that will take place soon.

Meanwhile, the current scenario in Delhi has an increasing number of cases and in fact, recorded 4000 new cases on September 9, which is the highest single-day increase since June 23. With that, the cumulative number of cases in the city have increased to 2 lakh cases.
