Mumbai: Class 12 HSC results have been declared by the Maharashtra board today for all the streams. Students can check their results on the official websites: mahahsscboard.maharashtra.gov.in and mahresult.nic.in. The exams were conducted between February 18 to March 18 earlier this year with over 14 lakh students writing the papers. The students will need enter their roll numbers and mother’s first name in order to get access to their results. These results, however, will be of provisional nature and the downloads will be available later.

Out of the 1413687 students who wrote the exam this year, over 1281712 exams have passed their HSC exams. This, in turn, has made the overall pass percentage for this year 90.66%. The overall pass percentage this year is better than that of last year by 4.78% as it was 85.88% in 2019. Meanwhile, the girls have managed to do better than boys as far as the overall pass percentage is concerned with 93.88%. Boys, on the other hand, have a pass percentage of 88.04%. With over 102552 students having secured distinction, over 464047 students managed to secure 1st grade.

As far as the toppers for the HSC results 2020 are concerned, with 642 marks, Gawade Amol Dilip has scored the highest followed by Amit Kisan at the second spot with 639 marks. The third rank is shared by three students, each with 637 marks: Chavan Dhanashri Eknath, Sahu Ritika Ramnaresh, Aditya Surendrakumar.

As far as the division wise performance for Maharashtra board results are concerned, Konkan has topped the list with 95.89% followed by Pune division with 92.50% and Aurangabad with 88.18%. The lowest-performing division this year is that of Nagpur with a pass percentage of 82.81%.

With 96.93%, Science students top the stream-wise performance list followed by commerce students with a pass percentage of 91.27. With 86.07% and 82.63%, MCVC and Arts students occupy the third and fourth sport respectively. 

While students were able to appear for all the exams for HSC 2020 given the papers finished off before the lockdown, the evaluation was delayed due to the suspension of work given the pandemic situation in the country. Hence, the results were also delayed for HSC students.

As the HSC results have been declared today, students are now awaiting the SSC result declaration. No date has been announced about the results yet, however, they will be out by the end of this month as per reports.
