New Delhi: The academic years which are yet to start and are on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic have been hanging for a while now. However, as it turns out, there are fresh guidelines that have been issued by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). As per the guidelines, they have made amendments to the admission to PGDM and MBA colleges and has now issued that they can be admitted on the basis of the qualifying marks in UG courses.

This comes as a result of the COVID-19 issues and as has been told by member secretary of AICTE, Prof. Rajeev Kumar, this was a decision that has been taken that in case there are seats left, the students who could not write the exams will be offered a seat on the basis of the UG marks in order to fill them up.

The idea of going ahead with the admission on the basis of qualifying marks is the ensure that the interests of both, the institution as well as the students are kept in mind, however, this will only be applicable to the current academic year i.e. 2020-21. None the less, it must be understood that the first preference is going to be given to those who did write the entrance examinations.

Meanwhile, some of the exams that have been postponed at the various state levels include OJEE MBA, Karnataka PGCET 2200, AP ICET 2020, TS ICET 2020, UPSEE MBA, HPU MAT 2020. However, exams like CAT, CMAT, and XAT have already taken place and the likes of ATMA as well as MAT are going to be conducted in a home proctored manner, online. In addition, for those aspirants who can’t write the exam, a merit list is going to be prepared by the institutes.
