New Delhi: A lot of considerations are being given to the exams that are yet to happen and while attempts are being made at trying to conduct the exams, some of them have been postponed and some, canceled. In addition, the criterion for admission to many colleges has also been ordered in order to make things easier.

And now, the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) has been postponed by The Bar Council of India. The exams were supposed to take place on August 16, however the COVID situation the country doesn’t seem to be getting better, and hence, BCI has decided to extend the date for the applications until August 31.

Meanwhile, there is also an ongoing authorization to bar leaders regarding the representation of needy lawyers before the SC and seek financial assistance as well as a soft load of Rs 3 lakh each. The AIBE enables aspirants to practice law and is a national level exam.

The decision came across on July 29 and as per the resolution, with COVID-19 cases in the country increasing, this was a sensible decision to make. This was done via a virtual meeting between the state bar councils, the Hight Court Bar associations, and the BCI where the decision regarding a write petition for financial assistance and loans was also passed.

As has been stated by BCI, a large number of the lawyers are having to face rather difficult situations given the suspension of physical courts thereby draining them off their earnings so far.

The bench that was headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde on July 22 went on to issue a notice to the Centre. Meanwhile, the aforementioned details regarding the assistance and other things were stated by BCI’s chairperson Manan Kumar Mishra.
