New Delhi: The Coronavirus outbreak has indeed affected education in more ways than one can imagine. While there continues to be a lot of questions and doubts regarding exams and new academic year at multiple levels, the entrance exams are also a huge concern for students. And now, as has been announced, the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2020) is going to be conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities on September 7.

The exam was originally scheduled to take place in May 2020, however, there continue to be multiple delays due to the current scenario in the country. While in an ideal case situation, the results would have been out a month ago, this year, not even the exams have been conducted as yet. And now, the exams have finally got a date after being postponed from its already postponed date of August.

The CLAT enables students to take admission across various undergraduate and postgraduate law courses. Being a national level exam, it allows students to make their way to the National Law Universities (NLUs). While thousands of students write the paper every year, this year, it has been a mess. And now, even the universities are considering options for the exams and conduct them in a proctor-based mode. However, a decision from the court is still awaited.

Among other exams, there also happen to be the likes of All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), LSAT India, etc, and changes have been brought about to them as well.

CLAT goes on for a total period of two hours and has over 150 questions. Anyone who manages to get 40% and above is deemed to have cleared the exam and can seek admission to the desired courses. Meanwhile, the pass percentage for reserved category aspirants is 35%.

With the increasing concern regarding the pandemic and the ongoing scenario, the entrance exams have taken a hit, thereby, also affecting out of school/12th pass students.
