New Delhi: CTET 2020 that was initially scheduled on July 5th was postponed by the officials due to the ongoing pandemic. CBSE had informed that the 14th edition of the CTET 2020 will be postponed.

The board has also informed that they will soon release the date of the exam. Till then, all the students are advised to visit the official website of the board for further updates. The official website of the board is ctet.nic.in.

The next date of the exam will soon be announced by the board on their official website. Till then, all the students are advised to make use of the time to prepare for their exam. Every year, lakhs of students appear for CTET. All those candidates aspiring to become teachers and aiming to teach students of class 1st to class 8th can appear for CTET, also known as the Central Teacher Eligibility Test.

As lakhs of students were to appear for the exam from across the country, the risk of getting affected by COVID-19 was also really high. CBSE had also decided to take all the safety measures and precautions for the students, but keeping them separate would have been a hard task for the board. As a result of which, the board decided to postpone the exam keeping in mind the safety of the students.

The officials will soon be announcing the new date of the exam. And the exam will be conducted in two shifts – paper I & paper II all across the country. All those candidates who wish to apply in a government or a private school can easily secure a job, provided they have qualified CTET. The candidates qualifying the exam are eligible to apply in various schools. The candidates can apply in Navodayas, Kendriya Vidyalas, and also in any private school as per their wish.

Here are the steps to get registered for CTET

  • The candidate will visit the official website – ctet.nic.in
  • On the home page, click on Apply online and start filling the form by entering personal details
  • Once you get the registration number, upload the documents
  • The last step is to pay the fees
  • Download and take a print out of the application for future use

CTET is a national level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education in order to appoint teachers at two levels – primary level and upper primary. The board conducts the exam two times in a year. Usually, the exam is conducted in the month of July & December. However, this year with the growing threat of the pandemic, the board had to postpone the exam to another date.
