Chandigarh: The coronavirus pandemic has played spoilsport for lakhs of students this year as a lot has come to hold right now. None the less, universities and educational institutions have been doing their best to minimalize any effects and work towards helping the students to make the admissions, exams, and results a seamless process online.

And now, the third round of PGIMER 2020 counseling is going to be conducted offline by PGI Chandigarh. The candidates who have been shortlisted but don’t have seat allotments yet are supposed to report at Bhargava Auditorium at the institute on July 24, 2020, at 11 am.

The seats that are vacant and available for the third round of counselling have already been announced via its official website on: pgimer.edu.in. In addition, the notice regarding the allotment for the third round also has a set of counselling guidelines with regards to COVID 19 and are mandatory to be followed by all aspirants.

The eligibility criteria for students for the offline counselling is securing minimum percentile with respect to their categories. The minimum percentile for Gen/Sponsored is 55 while that for PwBD/RA/SC/ ST/OBC is 50. The entrance exams were held earlier last month on Jun4 14, 2020.The seats will enable them to procure the 181 seats in Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS).

For their offline counselling session, the candidates will have to carry a list of documents, including their certificates from 10+2, their MBBS degree certificate, Internship certificate, cast certificate (if needed), MCI registration, and any other relevant and required government document. 

Here are the guidelines for the offline counselling at PGIMER 2020:

  • The aspirant needs to be physically present at the venue
  • Candidates who do not belong to Chandigarh Tricity will have to depart within 72 hours from their arrival (so that they don’t have to be in quarantine for 14 days) or make their minds about joining the course.
  • Social distancing has to be followed and wearing masks is mandatory
  • It is advised to not have more than one person along with them at the counseling hall
  • A deposit of the requisite fee of Rs. 2,485 will have to be made in order to confirm their seats if allotted.
  • The candidates who decide to go ahead with the process will have to join the institute by July 28, 2020, at 1 pm.
