Kolkata: The Madhyamik class 10 results have been announced by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. Students can check their results on the official website: wbresults.nic.in. Over 10.15 lakh students appeared for the 10th board exams this year and they can now check their WBBSE class 10 results online. Apart from the websites, the results can also be checked via sending an SMS to 5676750 by mentioning WB(roll number).

Meanwhile, the WB Madhyamik exams were conducted and completed before the Coronavirus pandemic hit the world. While making the announcement about the result declaration date, CM Banerjee also congratulated the students way in advance. The marksheets can be collected from the schools on July 22-23 while ensuring all the social distancing norms are followed.

This year, the overall pass percentage for WB Madhyamik results is 86.34% which is extremely close to that of last year, which was 86.07%. Out of the 10 lakh plus students who wrote the exams this year, 8,43,305 students have managed to pass.

While the females have recorded a pass percentage of 86.34%, the male students have a slightly higher pass percentage of 89.87%. This year, the topper for WB Madhyamik results is Aritra Pal, who belongs to Memari Vidyasagar Memorial and has scored a whopping 694 marks (99.14%). The second rank is shared by two lads, Sayantan Garai from Bakura and Avik Das from North Bardhaman, as both scored 693 marks. The third rank is shared by three students, each with 690 marks.

The WB Madhyamik results, which are generally announced in May were delayed this year due to the pandemic. As per reports, all the answer sheets have been checked twice so as to avoid any kind of mistakes.

Meanwhile, the results of class 12 WB students are due on July 17, 2020, as has been announced by the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
