New Delhi: For the longest time now, we have been all worried about the exam dates held at the entrance level and while there have been regular updates, some keep getting postponed. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, this is probably the longest that the students have waited to get into colleges and for a new academic year to begin.

As it turns out, with the ongoing situation in the country, exams will keep getting postponed and the latest to be postponed are the CLAT 2020 exams. As has been decided by a Consortium of National Law Universities, the CLAT exams for 2020 are going to now take place on September 28, 2020. The said exams were earlier due on September 7, which is after being postponed already. These exams will enable aspirants to get admission to both UG as well as PG courses in various law universities.

A notice was issued by professor Balraj Chauhan giving away the information about the postponement of these exams after a meeting was held by authorities from the Consortium of National Law Universities. The meeting was to discuss the standard operating procedures to be taken to in order to ensure safety given the ongoing pandemic, and the scenario prevalent across various states right now.

While the pandemic is a driving factor in the decision, it was also due to the lockdown effective on the said date in West Bengal as well as the existing lockdown in Bihar until September 7, that the Consortium took the decision to postpone the CLAT 2020 exams.

With the new dates out, students across various states can now heave a sigh of relief. Meanwhile, the final year exams are going to be conducted as per the decision from the SC, and other entrance exams like JEE Main, NEET, and others, continue to be a topic of discussion among the students.
