Mumbai: The Coronavirus pandemic has shifted everything online, and as tech savvy as students are these days, the process of admissions and exams can be difficult with so many people on the website all at once. Hence, in order to make the process seamless, the education department will be opening the portal for first year junior college students for demo registrations.

While the portal will open today, it is going to be for demo registrations only and the actual registration date is from July 26 onwards. Since students are generally provided with booklet that mentions their user ID and password, this year, they will have to get it on their own and hence, the demo process only makes sense. This will not only make the entire process seamless but also avoid any kind of panic.

As has been told by an official from the director’s office, students have been requested to carry out the entire process on the day of demo registrations in order to avoid mistakes as they have to generate the credentials.

As for filling the form today is concerned, the students will be able to fill the section of the form pertaining their personal details and in addition, they can also list down the colleges they want to select, however, they will be able to actually choose them once the portal opens post the announcement from SSC by month end.

Roughly, over 2.5 lakh students fill out forms from across the country in order to get admission to over 800 colleges that are located in the Mumbai Metropolitan region. In addition, there will be four merit lists this year during the admission process.

Meanwhile, the students are also awaiting their HSC results today.
