Bengaluru: Conducting exams at this time of crisis is indeed a task that could prove to be life-threatening and yet, some boards and governments have decided to go ahead with the various exams anyway. And now, it looks like the KCET 2020 exams to be held by the Karnataka Government is under scrutiny as the Karnataka High Court has asked them to reconsider their decision and inform the same at 2:30 pm tomorrow.

The Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) are due to be held on July 30 and July 31 with over 1.94 lakh students appearing for the same every year. This exam enables the students to avail admissions to the various engineering and pharmacy institutes in the state.

More than 1.94 lakh students appear for the exam every year. And now, as the court reviewed the petition for postponing the exams, it has directed the state to reconsider the same.  

As a part of the bench that heard the petition, CJ Abhay Oka and Justice Sandesh went on to question just how is it possible for an exam at such a scale to be conducted given the number of containment zones and how will those students write their exams in the first place.

In addition, while the government has been questioned regarding the decision and has been directed to reconsider it, the petitioners were also reprimanded for their approach of not going to the authorities but heading to the court at the last minute given the fact that the schedule was announced earlier.

And now, the decision from the government is awaited and will be recorded at 2:30 pm tomorrow. The admit cards for KCET were already released on their official website on July 17.
