Mumbai: The current period can rightly be called the season of exams and while the situation is rather crucial, all the educational institutions have been trying their best to keep things easy for students. While changes and alterations keep coming in, the safety of students has also been given primary importance due to the COVID-19 crisis and the increasing number of cases in the country.

And now, the preliminary exam dates for the civil services have been postponed by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) and this time, it is for a different reason though. Originally scheduled for September 13, the MPSC prelims have now been postponed and will be taking place a week later i.e. on September 30 instead.

While the delay in exams has been happening for various reasons, this time around, the decision has been taken to avoid a clash. The NEET 2020 exams are also scheduled for the same date i.e. September 13, and hence, the decision to postpone the exams.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, there have been multiple delays in the MPSC exams as they were originally supposed to be held on April 5. However, back in April, the lockdown was strictly imposed and it was then postponed for June. However, after yet another delay, September 20 has now been set as the date for the MPSC prelims.

The MPSC exams will enable the commission to fill in the available 200 vacancies across multiple departments. The application process had started off back in December 19-January 20.
