Chennai: While results and admissions have been an ongoing process over a recent couple of weeks, the schools and many colleges have taken to online lectures and that, requires a lot of efficiency in more ways than once.

Hence, in light of the same, the government in Tamil Nadu has taken a decision to televise lessons for school students from August. The announcement regarding the telecast of the same was made by the TN Education Minister KA Sengottiyan and the lessons will be telecast on 14 channels. In addition, the result regarding the re-opening of schools as well as the syllabus is due and will be taken by a committee comprising of 18 members.

Since online learning is also an expensive method, the education minister further made an announcement about having provided free laptops to over 52 lakh students. The televised class will be inaugurated by Chief Minister K Palaniswami.

For the longest time now, there has been a constant argument about why online classes is not a very viable options, especially for government schools as well as the weak sections of the society due to lack of resources. Hence, the decision regarding televised classes has come to life.

The television based learning was launched by CM on July 14 for students in Class 10 in light of the pandemic situation. And reports have it that the channel that will be showing class X material is Kalvi, the meaning of which is Education. This is a method to simply promote alternate learning methods to beat the coronavirus until it is time for schools to reopen again.

The total number of cases in Tamil Nadu is 1,92,964, while 52,939 patients are currently dealing with the crises. On the other hand, 1,36,793 patients have successfully fought the virus and over 3000 patients lost their lives due to COVID 19.
