Kolkata: While July has been a month full of results and announcements regarding the past and upcoming academic year, various entrance exam results continue to keep coming in. And today, the results for WBJEE 2020 have been announced by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) and students can avail it on the official website at wbjeeb.nic.in. Students need to simply enter their application number and the passwords to check the results.

Once the results were directed, a press conference regarding the same followed too. As has been announced, topping the WBJEE 2020 exams is Uttar Dinajpur student Souradeep Das followed by  Subham Ghosh and Sreemanti Dey at the second and third spots respectively. The WBJEE 2020 exams were conducted on February 2, 2020, and it was due to the Coronavirus outbreak that the results have been delayed.

Meanwhile, the counselling dates for WBJEE 2020 candidates are likely to be announced in the upcoming week with as many as 116 institutes being a part of the process. Meanwhile, since in-person counselling is rather risky at this time, it will be conducted online and there are a total of 34891 seats available to be filled in across the various institutes. Since everything will be online, the students will not be asked for any counselling fee and the documents will be verified by virtual reporting centres.

As far as the numbers are concerned, 73119 candidates wrote the WBJEE 2020 exams this year and out of them, over 71% fo the rank holders belong to West Bengal, 31% are from CBSE while only 3% belong to the ISC board.
