Kolkata: The 12th class results for WB HS students is now declared by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) and are available for check on the official website: wbresults.nic.in. The students will need their roll numbers and registration numbers to access their results.

This year, over 7.5 lakh students appeared for the WB HS exams 2020 and now that the results are out, they can all heave a sigh of relief. The Coronavirus pandemic caused a delay in the results and in fact, the exams between March 12 to 21 were the only ones that were conducted and others had to be cancelled.

While the papers were kept safe across railway stations as well as other stations, the Amphan cyclone also caused a barrier in evaluations. It was in a matter of 10 days that they were all brought together and corrected. It was last week in June that the cancellation of pending exams were announced. Over 14 papers could not be conducted due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Of the total number of students that wrote their WB HS exams this year, over 6.8 lakh students have passed, which makes the overall pass percentage for this year 90.13%. This makes it the highest pass percentage recorded ever. The pass percentage for last year was 86.29%. Of the 7,61,583 who wrote the WB HS exams this year, a total of 6,80,057 have passed.

CM Mamata Banerjee took to social media to congratulate the students for their results and also stated how they are now all set to take a new step in life. She also extended congratulations to the authorities at schools and the parents.

This year, Kolkata has the highest pass percentage as far as the district wise numbers are concerned followed by East and West Midnapore at the second and third spots respectively. The topper for WB HS results has scored 499 out of 500, however, the board hasn’t released the merit list. In addition, as far as the gender wise pass percentage is concerned, boys are slightly ahead with a pass percentage of 90.44% while girls have a pass percentage of around 90% as well.

About 30220 students have passed with flying numbers by scoring over 90% while 84,746 students have scored over 89% marks in their WB HS exams. In addition, with 60% or more, over 3,22,056 students have secured first division.

Currently, the results have been uploaded on the website, however, in case it creates issues, students can try checking alternative websites or methods or getting their marks. In addition, it has also been informed that the details about any kind of re-evaluations will be released soon and the deadline for the same will be the end of this month. The fee for scrutiny and review have both been reduced to Rs50 and Rs75, respectively.
